The National Schools Inspectorate Authority has confirmed that the Ghana Education service is assessing the outbreak of Covid-19 in private schools.
In an interview with Accra base Joy FM, Dr Haggar Hilda Ampadu disclosed that an inspection team has been sent to Akosombo to assess the situation after a private school in the Asuogyaman district of the Eastern Region of Ghana recorded 40 confirmed cases of Covid-19.
In her explanation, she said the GES received reports from concerned parents and the Ghana health service about the outbreak
She further stated that after the team has assessed the outbreak, they will verify and follow due process.
She said their initial response is to go down to the location and verify the report and then apply processes to ascertain what actually happened.
“In terms of the positive cases that have been reported, that will be a Ghana Health Service mandate. We have to ensure that they’ve taken over and they’re managing the cases and it’s been reported to the National Covid-19 Management Team.”
Dr Ampadu assured the general public that the authority is doing everything in their power to handle it very well
